There is so much inspiration in blogland that it blows my mind sometimes. It’s fun to watch certain design movements create such artistic excitement. There was a time I might have passed up these yummy morsels for “bigger” things, but now I see a simple beauty that definitely labels them as treasures. Although I usually shop for larger home décor items and antiques (statement pieces), sometimes I just like to browse and find really neat small things that don’t have a lot of monetary value, but are just “cool”!
On a recent treasure hunt outing, here is what I came up with and I simply adore these finds.
An early vintage softball. Can you believe it? No, not splayed, this is it’s original cover and it’s stamped. My daughter just finished her senior year of softball and she thought it was so cool. It will look good in a glass jar or one of my giant clamshells and it reminds me of her. This has to be the coolest thing I’ve found in a while.
Check out the variety of skeleton keys. These will come in handy for projects. Oh, and the little cut glass salt shaker with mother of pearl top. It’s to die for. I think it calls for German glass glitter.
This English graphic is amazing. Nice little crock that can stand on it’s own with a label like this.
Two precious milk glass pieces and the most beautiful blue bottle marked Made in Belgium. It will make a gorgeous summer vase for a fresh flower bouquet from the garden.
Oh, the ideas are running through my head. Here’s to simplistic beauty.

The ball is so splendid. I have a huge Christmas bowl that is filled with used soft balls and everyone who sees it during the holiday picks up a ball and plays with it. Collecting the small beauties and grouping them together as you did is so much fun. hugs, olive
Everything yummy! That softball is wonderful! Looks like it is right out of a Ralph Laren ad. I recently found a pair of those shakers. I had never seen them anywhere before. To die for! One of my favorite things.

Love the tray of treasures...Several years ago I came upon a vintage softball too....I immediately bought it as my hubby plays competitive mens softball...it was a great addition to his collection of baseball antiques...I am sure that every time you see that, you will have a big smile on your face thinking of your daughter!

I love Jon Carloftis (and his mom). I am told that he designed the garden in our courtyard years ago, but it was untouched for six years. We had to pull most of it out because it was dying from lack of love and attention. However, we were able to keep the trees (this espaliered apple tree and some service berry trees). The next time I see Jon, I am going to ask him if he did, in fact, design the courtyard. Thanks for stopping by.
