Christmas Mantel Love at LBE

I absolutely love fireplaces.  That said, I always decorate all three of my mantels.

This is my music room fireplace.

The colors on the tree in this room are champagne frost, mercury glass, and a lime or apple green.  I sort of fell into this color scheme…it wasn’t consciously thought out…it just kinda happened and I like the way it turned out.

I love the floppy evergreens.

It’s the only non-working fireplace in the house because of the very large antique mantel.  I had it backed in slate and added an antique French iron fireback.I wish now I would have added gas logs.

The burlap stockings came from Etsy last year and the inspiration for the NOEL letters came from Debbie over at Confessions of a Plate Addict.

I used a fresh balsam mix with cypress for the garland and added in mercury glass accents and fresh green apples.  I always try to use real fruit when I can.  Ornament balls were easy to pop into the antique French alabaster urns.

In the niche I adorned a fresh greenery swag with  a cherub and French horn and made the bow to go on the top.

Oh, the new wall color is Realist Beige by Sherwin Williams.  It’s a nice greige and a perfect background for anything.

Now, on to the family room mantel.

I decided to do a simple take on the nativity.  The sign is sooo cool and came from the Etsy shop Between You and Me Signs.  I kept everything clean and simple…no bows.

I wanted the message to be the most important thing.

I remembered to plant my paperwhites in late October so they would be just about blooming now.

IMG_1427

My kids still love the large nutcrackers.  The other one is in the  foyer this year.  They came from The Bombay Co. years ago.  As you can “see”, it’s a see-thru fireplace to the breakfast nook.

The new wall color in here is Sherwin Williams Wool Skein.  Another great greige neutral.

And, finally the master bedroom mantel.

IMG_1332

This is a pre-lit artificial garland mantel arrangement that I had professionally done and have used for several  years.  It still looks good and I’ve decided to continue to use it.  ( I can’t make myself take down the yellow moth orchid…I like it so it’s staying!!! lol)

I’m completely in the Christmas spirit now. So much more to share with vignettes, wreaths, dining room, etc.  Stay tuned.

Don’t forget to enter my Country French Christmas giveaway HERE.  You have until December 7.

Merry Christmas,

Hi Kim,
I hopped over from the Homespun Christmas blog hop. How wonderful to have three mantels! I have one, but a ledge over my bedroom fireplace serves likes one. I love the touch of the lime apples and your tree atop the table is beautiful. I am now a new follower.
Hugs,
Jann

How gorgeous both of your mantels are! I love the stockings you hung spelling out NOEL too. So cute. I also love the black and white artwork over the other mantel.

Not only is your mantel decor fabulous, but the mantels themselves are exquisite...When you have gorgeous mantels such as yours, you did the perfect thing by decorating them in "simplistic elegance"....Thanks for sharing your "one of a kind" mantels...and love the chalkboard art!

All your mantels looks so pretty, Kim! I love your Nativity mantel; that sign is great. It's fun having more than one mantel to decorate in different ways. I used to love to do the two at our old house totally different.
