I actually have two holiday copycat examples to share.
The first one is from Country Living Holidays magazine from way back in 2005, but I absolutely fell in love with the teddy bear. I keep favorite magazine articles or pictures in a file and often refer back to them for inspiration. This year I couldn’t resist playing with this one.
Country Living Holidays 2005
Isn’t he adorable?
My version
I used a silver compote and added a bow and raffia. The small glittered pear ornament my bear is holding came from an antiquing excursion a few years ago. Wish my teddy was antique!!!
And, below is copycat project #2:
This came from a favorite blogger of mine, Debbie, over at Confessions of a Plate Addict. This was her mantle in 2010 and I just went nuts for these stockings. There is always tons of inspiration in her posts. If you haven’t already visited her, please do so. She is super creative and has a French flair.
And, here is how mine turned out. Barb, from The French Elements, custom made these lovely burlap stockings for me (a shocking revelation: I do not sew). She is a highly talented seamstress and I found her through her Etsy shop. She also has a blog and a web site. Please visit her, too. These stockings have a nice twill cuff and I added glitter letters just like Debbie, only in a different style.
I think they turned out great!
This copycat challenge has been a blast. Looking forward to all the other Christmas topics in the Christmas Block Party this week!
Joyeux Noel,
Kim
