France Beckons Me: Au Revoir, Kentucky & Bonjour, Francais!

I told you a couple posts ago that I am going to Provence the first of May with my cousin. Read about it HERE.  We both have birthdays coming up and our husbands thought it would make a great birthday present.  Boy, were they right!

What I didn’t tell you is that we are going on Kit Golson’s Chic Provence Design Tour!  I didn’t want you to be confused with the Blogger’s Brocanting Tour that I am leading in September with Sunday Brocantes.  Kit is a wonderful interior designer and blogger and I know this trip with her will be fabulous.

I can’t wait to scour the flea markets for those precious French furnishings to bring them stateside to offer to my clients.  I might be missing the Kentucky Derby, but while the horses are running, I’ll be racing to find the best antiques. (Don’t forget to fill your silver julep cups with fresh flowers for Derby décor this weekend)

We will be visiting Avignon, L’Isle sur la Sorgue, St. Remy, Aix en Provence plus other villages.  We will be staying in a beautiful farmhouse villa and going to French design studios. We may even be touring a new La Cornue showroom.  I’m eager to learn about how French interior designers approach spaces and décor.

Ahhh, but alas, I have not forgotten my first love…Paris.  My cousin and I  will be staying here for 3 days and I will continue to soak up all my favorite city has to offer.

My love affair with France will continue….

I will try to keep you informed and post pictures during my trip to FB and Instagram.

I’ll be returning on May 14.  Until then…

Thanks for your comments on my painting. I have a lot to learn. Glad you were up close and personal (sort of) with Van Gogh. Twice I have visited his grave and the town where he committed suicide when I was on bicycling trips in France. He did several of his well-known painting there, but he was also very manic then.
