I lost a dear Grandmother this week. I no longer have any grandparents living now. It certainly is a reminder of the passage of time and how fleeting a lifetime really is.
The Blessing?
She was 95 years old. What a lucky granddaughter I am to have had TWO grandmothers live to be 95! Now that’s great genes.
She was a church pianist for many years and so I am. Maybe this is where I got my musical talent. She also made the best homemade apple pies and chicken and dumplings ever!
She will be missed here, but there’s no better place to spend the holidays than with the heavenly Father.
In case you missed it this week I recommended some great holiday candle fragrances HERE and showed you my amaryllis bulb plantings HERE.
I’ll be back next week with some Thanksgiving inspiration. Hope you have a great weekend.
Blessings,
Kim

Kim- I know it is hard to lose a relative no matter their age. All of my family unit is gone now including my only younger brother. The funny thing is that one day I realized that I am now the oldest generation in my family. What an odd, odd feeling. You are blessed to have had them in your life for all these years. Blessings- xo Diana
kim, sorry about the loss of your grandmother. What an amazing life and to have both until they were 95! And even though we know they are going to a far more better place , it's still hurts to miss the one's that we love.
Dear Kim! So sorry for your loss. What a beautiful picture of your grandmother and a lovely tribute!
A hug to you!
I am so sorry about your loss - but you are truly blessed to have known your grandmothers! Mine were both gone before I was even born. (My poor Mom lost her mother when Mom was only TEN years old!)
I lose my mom when she was only 59! So yes, you have good genes.
Your grandmother is so beautiful, just look at those lovely shiny eyes! God rest her soul.
Hugs.
Kim, it is a blessing to have our loved ones live into their 90s. Though we know they have lived full lives, it is never easy to say that permanent goodbye and let them go. Thinking of you at this time of loss.
So sorry for your loss of your beautiful Grandmother. That is a wonderful picture. I know she will be missed.
I just got some amarylis bulbs from a neighbor yesterday so am going over to your post to see how you pkanted yours!
What a blessing to have your grandmother with you for so long. She sounds like my kind of person, chicken and dumplings are my favorite. Hugs to you. Di@Cottage-wishes
Kim, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear grandmother. What an amazing life she must have had. I lost my grandmother around the same age; and we thought about all of the things that she witnessed in her lifetime. My thoughts are with you!
My heart goes out to you! My grandmothers have been gone for eons, however, my favorite "Mama" is always in my thoughts. I was extremely close to her and miss her daily.
