The New Direction For Grain Sacks?

I was immediately drawn to the freshly dyed grain sacks in Madame’s fabric shop.

I chose a couple lovely hued blue ones.

I was informed by Madame that this was the new direction as people were wanting more color and moving away from the plain sacks.

I failed to get a photo of the lovely green, purple, and pink sacks that were stacked ever so neatly. There were many different shades and hues.

I’ve not decided what I’m going to do with these yet.  I’m considering upholstering a small French chair or making pillows.

I looked on Pinterest but didn’t see many colored-grain sacks.

What do you think?  Do you like them?

Blessings,
Kim

Kim, I like the blue. I would love to find enough to make covers for the backs of my dining room chairs.
Interesting that they are now dying these. I recall a similar phase in the early 2000s when a Parisian dealer was dying antique linens and selling them in her shop. At the time, I was fascinated and purchased a few. Once home, they didn't appeal to me. I like the white linen, so I might be one who says, leave them natural.

Look forward to seeing what you decided to make with these.

While you are here, I'll take you to see a vendor that is also dying table linens. I stop by and look now and then but I have to say the colors just don't grab me--even the greys. For the grains sacks I think I prefer the classic although a little bit of color mixed in with the natural might be interesting. Can't wait to see what you do with yours!
