Outdoor Art Dilemma: Help Me Choose, Please!

After much shopping internet surfing, I have narrowed the outdoor art down to Frontgate and Grandin Road ( I know, they’re the same company).

Anyway, I need want a piece of artwork for the large area of brick on my loggia.  I’m really leaning towards something more funky and modern instead of the expected piece of metalwork.

Exhibit A:  Lots of brick over the sofa

Exhibit B: Choices

Following photos from Frontgate:

Choice 1
Palms are always a safe choice.

Choice 2
Eh, not sure about this one…

Choice 3
Nice, but maybe too traditional.  Although, I always have hibiscus growing somewhere.

These last images are from Grandin Road:

Choice 4
Reminds me of pop art.

Choice 5
I think the koi are interesting.

Choice 6
You  know how I love lavender.  This is an actual photograph.

Keep in mind I’ll be replacing the outdoor cushions next year so I can go with whatever colors I want.   Also, the art has to be fairly large.  All of these choices are either 40 X 40 or 24 X 48 size.

Which one should I choose?  Or are they all to cheesy-looking?  Any other ideas?

Hi Kim,

I love #1 and #6. It all depends on what you like for your home.
You could also make your own art. Use fabric or sheets and change it out with the seasons.

I like #2. I think the shape is good for that wall.

I like#6. I say go bold with the lavender.

I like the Koi the very best and #1 as second choice- I agree with Kim that the shape is good and I like the colours in it.

Try, if you can to stick with greens/golds/browns/white - if you get into the blue family or even lavender (like it but not outside) it just appears misplaced - all my humble opinion.

You have exquisite taste and what you pick will be so amazing, even if at first to me it doesn't appeal - it will in time.

Can't wait for your decision.

TREES would be a nice art choice as well.

Too many pretty choices, my favorites are #1, #5 and #6. Do you have a particular color scheme for the flowers in your yard (warm colors or cool colors?) that would influence my decision. Good luck, Kim!

I love 2 & 3. You found some great choices. May I ask where # 2 was found?

All of the pictures are pretty, but I think because brick is not a "solid" background, but a lot of pattern, I'd probably choose one of the pictures that is LESS "busy"...like the hibiscus one. Oh, and consider colors in the picture that blend well with the color of the brick, since you said you will change cushions anyway. I hope all this makes sense.

I bet any one of them would look nice. That's a really big wall...I think you could also add an architectural piece or two in with the pictures to give it more "oomph". Even make a BIG frame with a painted plywood backer and hang THAT with the pictures mounted inside of the frame....that's a lot of "oomph". I'm not bossy or anything.......LOL

I like choice #3 best. But I'd really like a great big white washed piece of wood with some vintage graphic on it from the graphics fairy.

I do like #4 best. The colors are beautifully vibrant and the flowers are a good size so they will not compete with the deep red brick (of which there are a lot) but will enhance the look. It will also brighten up the space, I think. Great options.

#2. Definitely #2. I like the lavender as well but I would put that inside

If it were my patio, I would choose #2. It isn't too busy and is a bit more simple. I can't wait to see what you pick.
